Yesterday as I was unraveling my braids for my braid out, I noticed how dry and frizzy my hair looked. My ends looked horrible, and it just felt like my hair was not mine. Which made me think, ” What did I do wrong?.” So thinking back to what I used on my wash day, I remembered something.
Using Expired products on my Braid Out
During my wash day last week, I used a new styling product that I had purchased from Target. I ended up using Curls Blueberry Bliss Twist-N-Shout Cream for my braid out. Now when I used the cream, my hair came out amazing. It felt soft, moisturized, my curls were defined, and my hair smelled like fresh blueberries.
So yeah, it is safe to say I have a new styler to add to my collection. Yet, even so, I still knew I needed to use up some of my older products. That had been in my collection for a minute now. So for my styler, I decided to use the Camille Rose, Curl Maker. Since the curl maker is one of the go-to gel stylers, I just knew my results were going to be amazing.
But little did I know, things were not going to turn out how I expected. Because at the time, I did not realize that my Camille rose styler was probably expired.
And since I did not remember when I purchased it, I had to refer back to youtube. Three years ago, on my youtube channel, I had made a review on this product. And raving about how much I liked it. So to find out that I had this product for over three years made me realize something. Because I am always looking to try out the latest products, I tend to buy too many new products.
And because of that, my older products get pushed to the side. Leaving me with products, I never end up using because I either forget about them or move on to something new. So, after that, I decided to do an ACV rinse to clarify my hair. After the rinse, I proceeded to use my other products. That, in the end, left my hair feeling moisturized and defined. And the way I know my hair is supposed to feel when it is absorbing the products.
Always keep track of the expiration date on your products. And if you have products that you have not used in years, it may be time to throw them out. As well as use up the products you already have before going out to buy new ones. Because the last thing you want to do is waste money on products that stay on your shelf for years and years.
